How to Make Marriage last a Lifetime
(An excerpt from Ptr Dave Magalong’s teaching)
3 Major Factors that will determine if conflict will turn into a personal quarrel:
1. Attitudes (thinking habits) – love orientation, expectations, behaviour interpretation
2. Method of Communication – anger management, language, art of listening, empathy
3. Level of Spirituality of the couple – faith in God, humility, patience, trust in each other
Lord grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, the courage to change the things we can and the wisdom to know the difference!
Our marriage cannot be on autopilot.
A marriage works because both are committed by God’s grace to make it work- through the challenging process of adjustment and change as both grow into the Christlike character in their relationship with each other.
